The short version
RankPDQ is a North Carolina web design and SEO practice run by David Wyatt. When you hire RankPDQ, David is the person who answers your email, audits your site, designs your pages, and explains what’s working in plain English. No account managers, no hand-offs, no offshore mystery team.
About David
David was born and raised in Wilkes County, North Carolina, and lives in Winston-Salem today. He’s been building things on the internet since the dial-up days — but his path here wasn’t a straight line, and that’s a feature, not a bug.
He spent fifteen years as a financial advisor, where he learned to research carefully, explain complicated things simply, and treat other people’s money like it matters. He spent a decade in the music industry as a singer-songwriter, where he learned how to get an audience’s attention and keep it. For more than a decade since, he has put both skill sets to work designing websites and building search strategies for North Carolina small businesses.
David also teaches high school math at Millers Creek Christian School in Wilkes County, where he serves as the school’s webmaster — he designed, built, and maintains the school’s website that families use every week for admissions, athletics, and school news. Outside of work he writes, records music, and publishes at jdavidwyatt.com, a publishing platform he designed and built himself.
That mix — teacher, builder, writer — is the RankPDQ difference. David can build your site with modern tools, explain every decision without jargon, and write content that sounds like a person instead of a keyword list.
How we work
We tell you the truth. If a $500 fix will solve your problem, we won’t sell you a $5,000 project. If your site is beyond saving, we’ll show you exactly why — with screenshots of your own pages, not scare tactics.
We build with modern tools. Static site generators like Jekyll and Astro, frameworks like Next.js, and editor-friendly content systems like Sanity — chosen to fit your business, not our convenience. Fast sites that search engines and customers both love. See our design work.
We stay local. Every client we serve is a North Carolina business. We know the difference between marketing in Winston-Salem and marketing in Boone, because we’ve lived it.
